The Montreal Canadiens recently signed goaltender Keith Petruzzelli, a former Toronto Maple Leafs prospect, to an AHL contract. Petruzzelli, who spent three seasons within the Maple Leafs organization, mainly played for their AHL affiliate, the Toronto Marlies, and the Newfoundland Growlers in the ECHL.

After his stint with the Maple Leafs, Petruzzelli’s move to the Canadiens strengthens their goaltending depth. During the 2022-2023 AHL season, he posted a 2.90 goals-against average and a 0.909 save percentage in 25

games, but his performance dipped last season with a 3.55 GAA and a 0.867 save percentage.

This signing helps solidify the Canadiens’ AHL affiliate, the Laval Rocket, as they aim to build a competitive roster for the upcoming season.
