It’s notorious down at the City Ground since Forest won promotion to the Premier League. The deadline day drama is what the club does best – and once again it looks set to be busy.

Ibrahim Sangare was involved in the has he, hasn’t he controversy last summer, and Forest just managed to get him across the finish line. Regarding Kamil Grosicki, his name continues to give fans chills.

It appears that this summer won’t be any different. The team is looking to add a striker, and they may also want to add a goalie and a midfielder before Friday night’s transfer deadline.

Nottingham Forest want Edoardo Bove from Roma

According to Calcio Mercato, the Reds are in the market for another midfielder and are trying to bring Bove to the City Ground.

The player has fallen down the pecking order with the Serie A outfit and the club are trying to move him on before the deadline.

Bove, 22, has made 92 appearances for the Italian outfit, scoring four times and claiming two assists from his central midfield position.

Bove’s 2024–25 campaign hasn’t started off as planned, and he hasn’t been used as a substitute in either of the two games.

Olympiacos may be considering signing Bove as well, so Forest is not the only team vying for his services. Both teams are owned by Evangelos Marinakis, but it’s unclear from the report which club he would be most interested in sending Bove to.

Other teams are also in the mix, with Fiorentina and Sevilla wanting to sign him ahead of the deadline on Friday.

Jose Mourinho enthused about Bove in 2023. After a surprising defeat to Slavia Prague in the Europa League, he believed the midfielder was the only player who could take any credit from such a dismal team effort.

Midfielder clearly in the sights of Forest before Friday

This is going to be an intriguing one ahead of the deadline – and perhaps this is a transfer more tailored towards Olympiacos.

Who Scored claims that Bove’s main qualities are tackling, aerial duels and through balls, with defensive duties the order of the day.

It’s not clear how much Roma want for their player but it feels as though Bove would be no more than a backup option at Forest.

Ibrahim Sangare, Ryan Yates, Nicolas Dominguez and Elliot Anderson are the midfield options at Forest and he might not represent too much of an upgrade on any of those.

Bove is only 22 and that does mean he fits the profile of what Forest are trying to do in the market.

However, this doesn’t feel like a deal that Forest will be in too much of a rush to do before the deadline day drama gets into full swing.
